CartoonGirlfriend’s expensive education

As a man was walking down the street, he saw one of his friends, looking glum.  “What’s the matter, buddy?”

“Oh, it’s my girlfriend.”

“What’s the matter with your girlfriend?”

“Well, she’s been acting sort of distant lately, so last night I asked her if she couldn’t learn to love me.”

“What did she say?”

“She asked me how much I was willing to spend on her education!”

Comfort on your first airplane flight

A middle aged man boarded an airplane, flying for the first time in his life.  He was visibly nervous, ashen-faced, sweating, and gripping the arm wrest so tightly that his knuckles were turning white.

The man in the chair next to him was a minister, who attempted to calm the man.  “Be of good cheer, friend.  Don’t forget God’s promise from the Good Book: “ Lo, I will be with you always.”

The other man looked at the minister, with a terrified look on his face, and replied “Low!  That’s the problem! We’ll be high!”

Do you have the time?
A gentleman was waiting at the bus stop, waiting to go home at the end of the day.  Another man walks up to him and asks him if he give him the time.  Strangely, the first man totally ignores the request.  After a brief pause, the second man repeats the question, only to be ignored again.  After a moment the second man walks off, disgruntled.
Another individual, also waiting for the bus, asks the first man, “That was a straightforward request; why didn’t you simply tell him the time?”
The first man, irate, responded.  “Why?  You want to know why?  I’ll tell you why!  Suppose I told him the time.  And then suppose that we strike up a conversation.  And after a little bit, he asks me to go have a coffee with him.  And we go to the corner Cafe.  And after a few cups, I take him to my house for a bite to eat.  And we go to my house, and I make us a couple of ham sandwiches, and my daughter walks in.  Now my daughter, she’s very pretty; and suppose they fall in love and want to get married.  Do I want to have a man who can’t afford a wristwatch as a son-in-law?”
