Rear Defrosters
Sam and Ruth from
hit with all its fury.
“I wonder if the car has seat warmers,”
Ruth said.
“It sure does,” said Sam, looking through
the owner’s manual. “Here it is: rear defrosters.”
Music Class
The first graders were attending their first music
lesson. The teacher was trying to start at the very beginning. She drew a
musical staff on the blackboard and asked a little girl to come up and write a
note on it.
The little girl went to the blackboard, looked
thoughtful for a minute and wrote, “Dear Aunt Emma. Just a short note to
tell you I’m fine.”
Family Vacation
Preparing for a family vacation, my sister-in-law
and her husband explained to their young children that they would be sitting in
the car for a very long time. The kids were told they would not be arriving at
their destination until after dark and they were warned not to keep saying,
“Are we there yet?”
After a few minutes of peaceful driving, their
five-year-old daughter perked up, “Is it dark yet?”
