Fourteen-year-old Savannah Vowers was washing her mother’s SUV in the family driveway in Littleton, Colorado, on Monday, August 16, 2010. It was a pretty day, with only a few clouds in the sky. Suddenly lightning struck the wet driveway, and traveled to where Savannah was standing with sponge in hand. She suffered only some minor nerve damage, but it left her pretty shaken.
We might be going through life just like that–pretty day, good circumstances, no problems, taking care of the to-do list. No apparent problems in sight. But trouble comes even when the sky is blue. Trouble comes even when we are not expecting it.
