Breaking Point

breakingpoint

breakingpointEveryday is a struggle. Life is falling apart around her. Six months into her second marriage she realized that things weren’t what they should be. The signs were all there, God even tried to impress on her heart that this marriage was not right but she didn’t listen. God allowed her to make this choice.

When it was time to say I do, she knew she didn’t but so many changes had been made. She had packed, moved out of her family home, moved into a rental home, unpacked everything, gone into additional debt than what she already had, she uprooted her daughter’s life. All that was left were the I do’s and…….she did. After the marriage license was signed, she decided she would stick it out no matter what. Little did she know, God had a different plan.

Time moved on, more debt piled up, more credit cards maxed out, they bought a double wide mobile home and placed it on his family’s land. Parties were being held, parties were being attended. Time flew by, things got worse. She kept her mouth shut through it all to avoid a confrontation with him. Not that he was a difficult man but just because she spent her first marriage fussing and arguing with her husband and this one was supposed to be different. This was the one she would spend the rest of her life with, trying to make it work.

She finally realized the debt was all in her name. Everything bought was in her name. It began crashing down on her that they may loose what they had. She couldn’t pay for everything and his seasonal work wasn’t helping much. She made it to her breaking point.

One day she came home for lunch, he was there, she continuously allowed all the feelings to be pushed down deep inside her. Never saying a word only reacting by being distant, quiet, short with her family. She walked in that day a nervous wreck. Tired of people calling wanting money, tired of them threatening to reposes things, just tired. She sat in her bathroom with the door closed, shaking. Her nerves could not take anymore. In those few precious moments, she asked God for peace in her situation. She asked for calmness before she forced herself into some serious medical problems. It was the most amazing feeling when God gave her that peace, that calmness. It was all lifted away in just a few moments. That was when she knew that no matter what. God was there and in control. Shortly after that, the marriage ended. God’s hands were always in it.
