John Havlik, in his book People-Centered Evangelism, tells us an alcoholic who came to know Christ. When asked about his conversion, he gave this answer:
"It was those two deacons. They came to see me every Sunday when I would getting over a drunk. They stood by the bed and talked to me each week about Jesus. I saw tears in their eyes. Preacher, there ain't nobody cried over me since my Mother died."
Oh, the things we could do, and the people we could reach with the Gospel, if only we cared like that, if only we were burdened enough about people like that!
